Home Bartending Essentials

Whether you’re a beginning bartender or an advanced mixologist, keeping a variety of home bar essentials on hand is imperative to a successful bar. Here is our top 10 bartending essentials:
  1. Shakers:  A cocktail shaker set is a must-have in order to prepare any shaken cocktail. Shakers come in various shapes and sizes, but they all help you shake up great drinks.
  2. Muddlers: Mixing herbs, botanicals and essential oils into your mixed drinks is a creative way to infuse flavor and fragrances. It's meant to help any herbs and fruits release their flavors into your drink.
  3. Bar spoons: Go and buy a long, slender spoon that reaches to the bottom of the tallest mixing glass. You’ll thank us later after you’ve made a Martini or Mojito.
  4. Jiggers: These measuring instruments help you get the flavor and strength of your drinks right.Proper proportions can make or break a drink. So be sure you’ve got a Jigger in hand to  make the perfect drink every time.
  5. Strainers: This circular metal utensil, with tightly wound coils, prevents anything uninvited appearing in your cocktail. Different drinks require different strainers and if you think you can get away with using only one kind for everything, you’re doing yourself and your beverages a disservice. Go on to  amazon and buy a Cocktail Strainer Set, I am sure they have it. Amazon has everything! Some come with a bar spoon bonus
  6. Bottle openers and corkscrews: Well, how else are you gonna open that bottle of wine or beer. Plus, many varieties come with other tools needed.
  7. Ice trays: Bartending requires lots of ice. Whatever ice-making method you choose is fine, just make sure you have a designated place that will keep your ice cold.
  8. Knife and cutting board: A good home bar should be stocked with at least a couple of cutting boards and knife in order to prepare the garnishes and fresh fruits that certain cocktails need.
  9. Blender: There are a lot of necessities that you absolutely need – like a jigger, shaker, spoon and knife – but if you’ve got all of those, then I'd have to go with a blender. The blender allows me to make quick homemade simple syrups using fresh fruit and herbs that really take cocktails to another creative level.
  10. Cocktail drinkware: One of the most important home bar essentials is a set of glasses. They influence the way we view, sip, and experience drinks. Make sure you have highball glass, lowball glass, wine glasses, coupe and martini glasses.
